Highmark Health HR Retirement Specialist in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
This job performs employee transaction fulfillment and escalation for Enterprise customers within HR Services Center related to retirement programs (DB, DC and Non-qualified Executive plans (409a)). This job requires strong analytic skills including the ability to review and analyze large quantities of data to ensure accuracy and completeness, often under challenging deadlines and must be extremely detail oriented. The incumbent provides project and analytical support to administer and evaluate employee retirement plan administration, as well as responds to eligibility and enrollment inquiries pertaining to employee retirement programs. Conducts retirement plan audits with internal and external auditors, oversees day to day vendor inquiry management, supports compliance reporting/notices; and works closely with the Tier 3 Retirement Team to implement changes and improvements to retirement programs as appropriate.
Respond to complex retirement plan inquiries by researching plan documents and summary plan descriptions and or partnering with legal counsel, account representatives, service providers, vendor managers and auditors to ensure accurate and timely response.
Administer the Organizations's retirement plans across the enterprise through ongoing timely communication with vendors and current and former employees.Ensure timely plan enrollments for new hires and job transfers. Daily adherence and updates as required to the T2 Retirement Operational Plan and HR Retirement Service catalog.
Ensure retirement plans remain compliant according to ERISA, IRS, Federal and State laws and mandates.
Meet customer commitments on-time. Ensure KPI customer satisfaction levels remain high from both internal staff and external vendors/providers.
Regularly assess current state of services and proactively identify areas of opportunity for improvement.Responsible for driving fulfillment activities for the retirement functional area. Generate data that contributes to the monthly operational metrics and utilization dashboard that reflects the operational performance of the retirement functional area.Maintain systems documentation and procedures in a current and detailed manner.
Participate as a team member in the requirements, design, and testing of new systems, enhancements to existing systems, and production support.Identify and escalates issues to HR systems support teams for analysis and resolution.

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management
- 6 years progressive and related experience in lieu of Bachelor degree.
- 3 - 5 years in Benefits Administration (i.e., 401(k), 403(b) and other Retirement Plans)
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS
Preferred (one of the following)
Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS)
Retirement Plan Associate (RPA)
Knowledge of ERISA, DOL regulations, 5500 filings
Strong written and oral communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
Strong experience with Non-Qualified Retirement plans (e.g. Deferred Compensation and 457 Plans)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while delivering quality results, managing multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
Maintain strict confidentiality with regards to work processes and employee information
Basic project management skills
Strong problem solving skills with emphasis on detail
Experience working in a matrix environment
